Here’s some encouraging news for fans of the slasher movies of yore; Fangoria got the scoop from producer John Dunning that he and the director of the original MY BLOODY VALENTINE, George Mihalka, are planning on collaborating once again after all these years, this time on a flick which Dunning claims “will frighten all ages”. Wicked!
While nothing about the plot is revealed, Dunning calls this mystery film a “creep fest”; apparently Mihalka will direct, while Lorenzo Orzari (HEAVY METAL 2000) will contribute to the script.
Dunning produced a number of classic 80s flicks (well, I guess it depends on who you’re talking to). In addition to MY BLOODY VALENTINE, the man helped bring to the screen titles like HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO ME, MEATBALLS and SPACEHUNTER: ADVENTURES IN THE FORBIDDEN ZONE. He also wrote all three SNAKE EATER movies! (You do remember SNAKE EATER, don’t you?)
Hopefully more info on this project trickles in soon; I’d love to see a couple of genre movie vets show these whippersnappers we’ve got in the genre today how it’s done!
