Now that it has its three main leads set, THE HUNGER GAMES must begin to fill in the supporting roles. Two more names join the production today, and both are – most likely – names you’ve never heard of.

Amandla Stenberg and Dayo Oekniyi (pictured) are now on board the Gary Ross picture; they join the previously announced Jennifer Lawrence, Liam Hemsworth and Josh Hutcherson. The duo will be playing “Rue” and “Thresh”, respectively. The announcement was made on the film’s official facebook site, which might be a good place to check out frequently if you’re super stoked for this flick.

Since I know not a thing about THE HUNGER GAMES, I’ll let THR explain who these characters are: In Hunger Games, Rue becomes Katniss’ eventual ally, but things get hairy at the end of the Games for the 12-year-old girl. Thresh, in the book, is known to be an intimidating and physically strong tribute who spares Katniss’ life.

THE HUNGER GAMES comes out on MARCH 23, 2012.
