David Hyde Pierce is best known for playing psychiatrist Niles Crane on “FRASIER,” but it is he who could use could use some psychiatric help in THE PERFECT HOST. Magnolia Pictures will release the psychological thriller via video-on-demand on May 27, followed by a limited theatrical release on July 1. Check out the trailer for the flick below.
Warwick Wilson (David Hyde Pierce) is the consummate host. He carefully prepares for a dinner party, the table impeccably set and the duck perfectly timed for 8:30 p.m. John Taylor (Clayne Crawford) is a career criminal. He’s just robbed a bank and needs to get off the streets. He finds himself on Warwick’s doorstep posing as a friend of a friend, new to Los Angeles, who’s been mugged and lost his luggage. As the wine flows and the evening progresses, we become deeply intertwined in the lives of these two men and discover just how deceiving appearances can be.
Writer/director Nick Tomnay makes his feature debut on the picture, which is an expansion of a short he made back in 2001. In addition to Pierce, the cast also includes Clayne Crawford, Nathaniel Parker, Helen Reddy, Megahn Perry (below) and Joseph Will.
