At long last, we have a substantial first look at Craig Gillespie’s FRIGHT NIGHT 3D, courtesy of Moviefone. The inaugural images from the remake show off almost all of the film’s major characters: Jerry, your devious neighborhood vampire, as played by Colin Farrell; Charlie Brewster (Anton Yelchin), the suspicious teen who gets wise to Jerry’s nasty ways; Evil Ed (Christopher Mintz-Plasse), Charlie’s best friend who unfortunately turns (or gets turned) to the dark side; and Imogen Poots’ Amy, the popular girl who joins Charlie on his dangerous investigation.

Regretfully, there’s no imagery of Toni Collette as Charlie’s mom or David Tennant’s magician Peter Vincent – although you can get an idea of what the latter looks like right HERE. Also, if you want to read what screenwriter Marti Noxon said to us about the film exclusively, click right HERE.

FRIGHT NIGHT opens on AUGUST 19th, one of the more interesting weekends of the summer: The 3D film will be up against CONAN THE BARBARIAN and SPY KIDS 4 – both of which will also be showing in 3D. Should be an intriguing battle for screens and bucks. Which flick will YOU be giving your money to?
