Even though we’ve already seen photos from the set, Sony’s Screen Gems today announced “officially” that production on UNDERWORLD 4 has started in Vancouver, Canada.
In addition, we’ve learned that the film has cast India Eisley (“The Secret Life of an American Teenager”; pictured), as “Eve”, presumably Selene’s daughter. Michael Ealy, Sandrine Holt and Robert Lawrenson co-star.
Kate Beckinsale, star of the first two films, returns in her lead role as the vampire warrioress Selene, who escapes imprisonment to find herself in a world where humans have discovered the existence of both Vampire and Lycan clans, and are conducting an all-out war to eradicate both immortal species.
UNDERWORLD 4 is helmed by Swedish directors Mans Marlind & Bjorn Stein (SHELTER) from a screenplay written by Len Wiseman, John Hlavin and Allison Burnett. It is being shot in 3D and is scheduled for release in JANUARY 2012.
