No matter what way you split it, Stanley Kubrick’s A CLOCKWORK ORANGE is a classic work of film. Although the 1971 picture made its Blu-ray debut back in 2007, Warner Home Video is releasing a special 40th Anniversary Edition on Blu-ray on May 31. The two-disc set will include two newly produced featurettes: Turning Like Clockwork, a 25-minute documentary about the film’s cultural impact and a featurette in which star Malcolm McDowell looks back at his experience working with Kubrick. The set will also feature a 40-page book with rare photos and production notes. Here are all of the features:

– Stanley Kubrick: A Life in Pictures (Directed by Jan Harlan, the brother of Kubrick’s widow, Christiane): Kubrick’s career comes into sharp focus in this compelling documentary narrated by Tom Cruise. Fascinating footage glimpses Kubrick in his early years, at work on film sets and at home, augmented by candid commentary from collaborators, colleagues and family.
– Lucky Malcolm! Documentary: about the life and career of actor Malcolm McDowell produced and directed by Jan Harlan and edited by Katia de Vidas.
If you’re a big Kubrick fan, the set will also be availbe in STANLEY KUBRICK: LIMITED EDITION COLLECTION, featuring nine films on ten discs. The other films incldue SPARTACUS, DR. STRANGELOVE, 2001: A SPACE ODYSSEY, THE SHINING, FULL METAL JACKET, EYES WIDE SHUT and the Blu-ray debuts of LILITA and BARRY LYNDON. This will be available on DVD as well.
