New Rise of the Apes image gives you the monkey eye

Our first real peek at Fox’s RISE OF THE APES wasn’t very exciting… unless you’re one of those people who can’t get enough James Franco. But a new image has surfaced from the prequel – albeit a slightly unfocused low quality – that should raise your monkey eyebrows.

Comingsoon.net got their hands on a piece of promotional material from Fox that includes the above picture from RISE. I’m guessing that’s Andy Serkis we’re seeing after he’s been digitally transformed into an ape (although with a very subtle human quality). If that’s the case, it’s a nice effect, and might signal some good things for the project. Will want to see a clearer version before it’s all said and done, however.

RISE OF THE APES, which just got yet another release date shift and now sits on AUGUST 5th, comes from director Rupert Wyatt and stars James Franco, Freida Pinto (below), Andy Serkis, Tom Felton, Brian Cox and John Lithgow.
