Brief but very sweet news for those of you who were excited by the idea of Stephen King writing an episodes of “The Walking Dead”. The rumor began only two days ago, after actress Laurie Holden dropped the bomb at a panel for the show. Sure, she’d probably have better intel than the rest of us, but who ever believes anything an actor says? 😉

Turns out, she wasn’t just teasing: Entertainment Weekly, the publication King spent many years contributing to, confirmed that King is indeed “in talks” to pen an episode for the upcoming second season. As series creator Frank Darabont has basically spent most of his professional career adapting King’s work, it’s not a stretch to believe that this will happen. King was quoted as saying Darabont “has expressed enthusiastic interest for season 2 or possibly 3.”

There’s a bit more: King tells EW that he’d be writing the episode along with his son, Joe Hill. The latter is making quite a name for himself in the field right now, with the TV adaptation of his graphic novel “Locke & Key” in production and the film adaptation of his book HORNS gaining steam after Shia LaBeouf’s name recently became attached.

Good to be the King… and his son.
