New Red State poster introduces us to Stephen Root’s Sheriff

Though March 8th brought us a “final” one-sheet for Kevin Smith’s RED STATE, it would appear as though the director still has some character posters to dish out. The last one we saw was of James Parks’ Mordechai, and now we’re being introduced to Stephen Root’s Sheriff. Root is probably best known for his comedic roles, such as “Milton” in OFFICE SPACE or “Jimmy James” in NBC’s “NewsRadio”; he starred in Smith’s unfortunate JERSEY GIRL as well. Peep the poster below.

The poster was once again auctioned off by Smith, and FilmThreat.com was the highest bidder. Smith gave them his “don’t be a detail-thin dick” routine and so I in turn shoud tell you that the dough FilmThreat shelled out ($2050!) will be going to the American Red Cross and their Japanese Relief effort. Indeed, a good cause.

As for RED STATE, Smith continues to bring it to various cities across the country, leading up to OCTOBER 19th, when it’ll get something of a nationwide release. In the meantime, check out our own Chris Bumbray’s review from Sundance right HERE.
