Bobcat Goldthwait’s next is a great-sounding slasher called God Bless America

Forget MY SUPER PSYCHO SWEET 16this is the way it should be done.

Appearing on Adam Carolla’s radio show, onetime POLICE ACADEMY comedian Bobcat Goldthwait – who has transformed himself into a pretty interesting director (see the pitch black comedy WORLD’S GREATEST DAD, starring Robin Williams) – described the idea behind his next movie, which is potentially the most awesomest thing ever.

Called GOD BLESS AMERICA and backed by Richard Kelly’s Darko Productions, it’s… well, I’ll just let Bobcat explain the idea himself, by way of Cinema Blend:

Bobcat explains, “There’s this middle aged guy and he’s at home watching a show like My Super Sweet 16.” Like any sane person forced to watch this televised horror, this middle aged guy apparently didn’t like what he saw because after watching Bobcat says that he then, “drives 400 miles and kills that girl.”

Eventually people find out, and don’t really seem to mind. Goldthwait says, “and then a classmate asks him ‘did you kill Chloe?’ and he doesn’t say anything and she goes ‘awesome’. So then they get in this stolen Camaro and drive around and kill people.”

In case you don’t know what “My Super Sweet 16” is, it’s an MTV show that actually glamorizes spoiled little rich kids who are given extravagant parties by their numbskull parents, complete with lavish gifts like cars and boats and the like. Usually they shamelessly act like ungrateful assholes, so it’s only natural to want to kill them. All of them. Seems like we’ve finally got a hero who is willing to do so, and I sincerely hope this GOD BLESS AMERICA movie comes to fruition.

For now, watch this bloody brilliant British expose on “My Super Sweet 16”, you won’t regret it.
