Titus Welliver to play a Zombie Hunter in the CW’s Awakening

I just wrote about how ABC’s “The River” is showing the greatest potential in terms of the new crop of genre-related television shows being prepped this pilot season. I guess that would make “The Awakening” a solid second place. The CW show, about a zombie apocalypse and the two sisters who must survive it, is gaining steam after casting its lead girls as well as a male lead. Finally it has just added someone I actually recognize.

Titus Welliver, whom fans of “Lost” will certainly recognize as the villainous “Man in Black” and “Deadwood” fanatics will recall as “Silas Adams” (pictured), has joined “The Awakening” as The Hunter, a middle-aged man with silver hair and piercing eyes who is from a family of legendary Zombie Hunters.

Interesting; I assumed this show was about a zombie uprising that unexpectedly occurs. Now we learn there’s a long line of zombie hunters. Maybe they’re just very forward-thinking and have been waiting for this particular undead revolution? Guess it remains to be seen… I
