With the success of hoarder-related reality TV, it was only a matter of time before someone made a movie about a maniacal one. But Tom Petty’s daughter? Didn’t see that one coming.
But ’tis the truth: Adria Petty (pictured with Paris Hilton, for some reason), apparently a successful director of music videos and commercials, is set to helm SUFFOCATE, a horror movie about, if I’m reading this correctly, a killer hoarder.
As per Deadline.com, SUFFOCATE is described as a thriller about a group of city workers who enter a hoarder’s condemned brownstone and find it loaded with deadly traps, and an unrelenting killer. The group is forced to use their wits–and demolition tools–to stay alive.
Sounds a bit too much like THE COLLECTOR, but I’ll bite. Ben Olson wrote the screenplay and Radar Pictures (THE TEXAS CHAINSAW MASSACRE remake) is producing.
