Blue Underground will release THE NESTING on DVD and Blu-ray for the first time ever on June 28. People weren’t exactly clamoring for it, but it’s always cool to see a forgotten genre flick given the time of day. You can see the cover art below. Here’s the plot:
Agoraphobic mystery novelist Lauren Cochran decides to leave the city in an attempt to cure her recent writer’s block. She rents an old Victorian house in the quiet countryside, unaware of its shocking history. As those around her suffer increasingly violent deaths, Lauren begins to unravel the truth: the house was once an infamous brothel now haunted by the victims of a bloody massacre. Will her terrifying phobia allow her to escape from THE NESTING?
The film presented will be the never-before-seen director’s cut. Extras on the discs will include trailers, TV spots and a gallery of posters and stills. The DVD will retail for $19.98 and the Blu-ray will retail for $29.98.
The 1981 flick, also known as MASSACRE MANSION and PHOBIA, is directed by Armand Weston, who co-wrote the script with Daria Price. It stars Robin Groves, Christopher Loomis, Michael David Lally, John Carradine, Bill Rowley and Gloria Grahame in her final film role.
