It’s no secret that David Fincher is going all out with his US remake of THE GIRL WITH THE DRAGON TATTOO, but could he be going to far?
The latest issue of The Hollywood Reporter has a rocking article about Mr. Fincher and in said article they reveal that the filmmaker already has his idea of the GIRL WITH THE DRAGON TATTOO one-sheet layed out. Check it:
Finally, we reach his spare, modern office, centered on a wooden desk as imposing as Fincher himself. Warming up — as much as he ever allows himself — he takes out an iPad and clicks on a photo he’s planning to use for the Dragon poster. It shows actor Daniel Craig half-hidden behind co-star Rooney Mara, who’s looking directly into the camera. Her hair is spiky, her face pierced with rings, her body covered in tattoos. It’s black and white and beautiful, but there’s no way in hell any studio will ever let Fincher use it, as he knows. Because Mara is naked from the waist up.
While that would be one hell of a poster I highly doubt there’s any chance of it seeing the light of day. Actually I can almost gurantee it, unfortunately. Forty years ago, when Harriet Vanger disappeared from a family gathering on the island owned and inhabited by the powerful Vanger clan. Along with Mara (pictured) and Craig the flick is also set to star Stellan Skarsgard, Robin Wright, Christopher Plummer, Joely Richardson, Bengt W.C. Carlsson, Mathilda von Esse and Yorick van Wageningen. This shite is still rolling with plenty of updates sure to come before it’s December 21st release date so be sure to keep checking back for more!
