Via a press release comes the news that Rob Zombie’s next project, LORDS OF SALEM, will begin shooting this spring (presumably in Salem, Mass.).

The thriller, set in contemporary Salem, where the inhabitants receive a demonic visit from a 300-year old coven of witches, was first announced back in September.

The film will be produced by Jason Blum, Oren Peli and Steven Schneider the team behind PARANORMAL ACTIVITY, as well as James Wan’s INSIDIOUS. This will be the third film under their Haunted Movies banner, after INSIDIOUS and Barry Levinson’s THE BAY, about a terrifying viral outbreak on the Eastern Seaboard. Incidentally, that flick will have its first images revealed at the Berlin Film Festival, which begins next week.
