We haven’t heard about Stealth Media Group’s upcoming remake of KINGDOM OF THE SPIDERS since it was announced back in October, but now a teaser poster has surfaced. Check it out to the right. It’s unfortunately low-res, but we still get a nice look at an eight-legged freak.

The 1977 original cult classic stars William Shatner as a veterinarian who must save a small town from being overrun by thousands of tarantulas. No word on how similar the remake will be, but the poster states that it is “inspired by the original cult classic,” so we’ll see.

The redux is being produced by Nuala Barton (Mischa’s mother, who produced HOMECOMING) and Rene Sheridan. Naturally, it will be in 3D. Said the producers: “We are delighted to be working with Stealth Media’s Jason Piette, Sean O’Kelly and Michael Cowan to bring this cult classic back to larger than life, in 3D.”

That’s all we know so far. More details are expected soon. I’m willing to bet that Mischa Barton will end up in the flick for obvious reasons. No complaints here.
