Spike TV’s 8th annual Video Game Awards were on Saturday. Among the videos to premiere at the event was a teaser trailer for Insane, a video game created by Guillermo del Toro. Watch it below.

The video really doesn’t show anything, but it served its purpose of raising awareness of the project’s existence. I know I’m excited for the final product, but unfortunately we’ll have to wait until 2013 to play it.

“I want to take players to a place they have never seen before, where every single action makes them question their own senses of morality and reality,” says del Toro. If anyone can accomplish that, the visionary filmmaker (and avid gamer) is the man!

The horror-themed game is developed by THQ’s Volition. It is the first in a planned trilogy.
