If it’s Halloween, it must be… DIBBUK BOX!

Proving that there will be no SAW film next year, Lionsgate has slotted DIBBUK BOX – its co-production with Sam Raimi’s Ghost House Pictures – for an OCTOBER 28, 2011 release date.

While no cast has been announced yet, Danish director Ole Bornedal recently signed on to direct. The helmer of such flicks as NIGHTWATCH (aka Nattevagten) and THE SUBSTITUTE is a cool choice; a step off the beaten path. Makes me kinda pumped for this flick, which starts filming in January.

The full plot is still a bit of a mystery, but we do know that it’s based on the real events that transpired after a family wound up in possession of a haunted box, setting off a harrowing struggle to rid themselves of the box’s evil curse.

I have a strange feeling that the title might be changed, as it isn’t exactly music to the ears, but we’ll see. Now begins DIBBUK BOX Watch!
