So who out there has had a chance to see Srdjan Spasojevic’s A SERBIAN FILM? And what’s the verdict? All I’m hearing about this flick is that the thing is loaded with all kinds of f*cked up fun. Now if you haven’t had the chance to catch this one yet, worry not! It seems this little diddy is finally scoring some US distribution!
News coming out of this year’s American Film Market has Invincible Films planning on releasing A SERBIAN FILM on the US early next year. Let’s try and contain your excitement please. Seriously though, this is some pretty solid news. This thing has been making the rounds for months now building up some pretty gruesome word of mouth and here we are just a few months from getting our chance to see it here in the US. Nice!
Invincible Films are planning on releasing an R-rated version of A SERBIAN FILM as early as February 2011. They’ll also be pimping out the Unrated version in a limited theatrical release as well as on DVD. So we’ll actually have a chance to check this shite out in all it’s unrated glory? Natch!
Showtime and Invincible Films have also made a deal for the R-rated version. But that’s not all! A SERBIAN FILM will also be released via video on demand as wall as on mobile devices via a service called FlixFling. So there’s that. Now I don’t know about you guys but from what I hear about A SERBIAN FILM you might want to skip the watered down version and make a dash right for the unrated one. Or not. Completely up to you.
Milos, a former porn star who is down on his luck financially. When he receives a call from his long-time movie actress partner, Layla, he welcomes her call. Apparently she’s heard that a new film director wants to hire Milos to star in his “artistically-designed” porn film for a very generous price. He is easily lured from his semi-retirement by the lucrative offer, agreeing to meet the director in an isolated mansion.
As the filming progresses, Milo begins to suspect that the director’s intentions may be darker than mere pornography. As the film begins to devolve into a horrifically violent production, Milos finds escape may not be an option.
The film stars Srdjan Todorovic, Sergej Trifunovic, Jelena Gavrilovic, Katarina Zutic (below), Slobodan Bestic and Ana Sakic. We’ll be keeping our eyes and ears open for some official dates for A SERBIAN FILM so be sure to keep it here for that as it comes our way!
