Well here’s some interesting news that should’ve came out a long ass time ago! Apparently Academy Award winner Hilary Swank is going around town saying that whole thing about her being cast in John Carpenter’s FANGLAND is bogus! Come on now…. Did we honestly think it was true anyway?
Though I’ve got to admit… It would’ve been nice to score this news three years ago, when the rumor first popped up. You see the guys over at Empire Online recently had a chance to chat with Swank (below) about her film CONVICTION, and thankfully the guys at Empire decided to toss one of the tough questions Swank’s way: What’s up with FANGLAND, yo?! The actress quickly debunked the rumor, stating: “I guess that’s why they call it a rumour, huh?” She’s a comedian too? Nice!
A TV producer travels to Romania for an interview with a notorious European arms dealer, but it turns out he’s a modern-day Dracula.
Seriously though, this is definitely a hit to the potential of FANGLAND. I mean a modern retelling of Dracula with an Academy Award winning actress on screen and John Carpenter behind the camera? Natch! But alas it was not meant to be. Now Carpenter is still in line to direct this little diddy but there’s no telling who’ll be starring in the flick. As always as soon as we hear any word on FANGLAND we’ll pass the news on to all of you!
