New Chinese survival horror flick The Island reminds us of Battle Royale

Chances are if you’re a fan of the genre you’re a fan of the epic international flick BATTLE ROYALE. And if you happen to love BATTLE ROYALE you may want to check out the flick I’m here to tell you all about today…

I’m talking about a little film called THE ISLAND, which is coming at us from all the way over in China. Now this new project is coming our way from director Chao Feng and follows right along the lines of BATTLE ROYALE it seems. And when I say following right along the lines I mean damn near overlapping them! What do I mean by that? Check out the synopsis for THE ISLAND:

THE ISLAND follows a group of contestants who all must survive some horribly violent games.

See what I mean? Damn near a carbon copy of BATTLE ROYALE! Let’s not get to upset though. It’s looking like THE ISLAND may have enough going for it so that it’ll stand alone from BATTLE ROYALE… Or at least side-by-side.
