Back in June we hit you all with the news that Tim Burton would be bringing us a new adaptation of THE ADDAMS FAMILY. So what would this newest version entail? Stop-motion animation of course! Natch! Well folks if you got excited for that bit of news you’ll be stoked to hear today’s update!
See the guys over at Deadline New York just got the good word that scribes Scott Alexander and Larry Karaszewski have just been tapped with the task of penning this new project, which is Burton is looking to direct. So what’s the significance with this update? Well Burton had previously worked with the writers on the 1994 film ED WOOD, so needless to say the duo know what Burton likes.
Now this new animated film will go all the way back to Charles Addams’ black and white cartoons in The New Yorker rather than the previous ADDAMS FAMILY adaptations. Throw that in with Burton’s twisted mind and some badass stop motion animation and we may just be in store for a good time!
Alexander and Karaszewski should be getting to work on this little diddy soon so be sure to keep it here for anything and everything we hear on THE ADDAMS FAMILY as it comes our way!
