Trailer for Don’t Be Afraid of the Dark is meant for theaters

Our man in black Jason Adams covered the panel for the upcoming remake of DON’T BE AFRAID OF THE DARK at this year’s Comic Con where they no doubt showed the trailer for the film (read the full report HERE). Now that some time has passed, Guillermo Del Toro decided it was time for the rest of the planet to enjoy the trailer as well.

Courtesy of those crazy bastards at IGN, the trailer below features star Katie Holmes (though you wouldn’t know she was in it if you blink in all the right places), but mostly it features a lot of darkness, and a few boo scares that you know are coming but are fun anyway.

Considering how the trailer starts off, it’s quite obvious it would be way more effective in a dark movie theater than wherever the flock you are right now watching it on your computer. But it’s cool anyway… I just hope I’m able to see it attached to something soon to get the full effect.

Check out the trailer below to see what I mean, and get ready for DON’T BE AFRAID OF THE DARK in theaters this January.
