Well Season 3 of HBO’s “True Blood” just kicked off and things seem to be chugging right along for the hit series. But what about it’s cast? The success of the show must be thrusting these actors into the limelight right? So why haven’t we seen them in much else yet? Ask and we shall receive.
Back in April we found out that director Peter Berg would be going the extraterrestrial route with the film and that Taylor Kitsch would be starring. Here we are two months later and we’ve finally got another name joining the project! It was recently announced over at The Hollywood Reporter’s Heat Vision blog that “True Blood’s” Alexander Skarsgard will be starring in Peter Berg’s upcoming sci-fi adapation of the hit board game BATTLESHIP!
According to Heat Vision ‘Skarsgard (above) will play Kitsch’s brother, a straight and narrow naval officer whom Kitsch, a wildly spirited naval officer, idolizes.’ The film will follow an international fleet coming together to battle a water-bound armada of otherworldly origin. The brothers are sure to be along for the ride.
BATTLESHIP is already sitting on a release date of June 18, 2012 with plans to start shooting the film in Hawaii starting August 30th. That’s only a couple months away folks so be sure to keep it here for more on Peter Berg’s BATTLESHIP as we hear it!
