In case you weren’t excited by Frank Darabont’s words regarding his take on “The Walking Dead”, Twitter comes through with some sweet, sweet casting news, making this t.v. series that much more appealing. This time it’s professional ass-kicker Michael Rooker doing the tweeting (yes, even Rooker tweets), formally announcing to the world the following: “On my way to Atlanta soon to work with my new best friend Frank Darabont on “The Walking Dead”
Nice! Of course, Rooker doesn’t lay claim to any particular role, but I have my guesses. (Solemn mechanic “Jim”, perhaps?) No matter who he plays, he’ll add that special blend of likability and inherent madness that only Rooker can bring to a role.
The man known for playing “Henry” and “Grant Grant” joins Andrew Lincoln, Jon Bernthal, Jeffrey DeMunn, Laurie Holden, Steven Yeun and Sarah Wayne Callies in the show, which is currently shooting in Georgia. It will premiere on AMC this October. I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again – Halloweentime can’t get here soon enough…
Sarah Wayne Callies
