Well we’ve all been wondering, and we even heard a bit about it a couple weeks ago, but now we know for sure who will be directing FINAL DESTINATION 5! Are you guys ready for this? Drum roll please!
Steven Quale! That’s right folks! Steven f*cking Quale! Wait…. who? If you’re like…. well anyone… chances are you have no idea who Steven Quale is, so let me inform you all. It appears that Quale is actually the right hand man of that guy who directed that blue alien movie… Oh yeah, James Cameron. Quale has worked with Cameron on THE ABYSS, TERMINATOR 2, TRUE LIES, TITANIC and of course, AVATAR. He was actually the second unit director on TITANIC and AVATAR, the two highest grossing movies of all time… So how about we take a minute and let that sink in.
New Line have already tapped an August 26, 2011 release date for FINAL DESTINATION 5, and it’ll of course be in 3D. All we know right now as to the plot of the film is that the opening scene will involve a suspension bridge (nice!) and there will be a scene involving laser eye surgey. Filming on FINAL DESTINATION 5 starts September 13th.
