Back in November we first got word on a little French flick called STRANDED. Well actually it was called DJINNS… then STRANDED… Or was it STRANDED then DJINNS? Either way the flick is now sticking with DJINNS and today we’ve got a look at loads of stills for the long-awaited feature!
This little diddy has been boiling for over two years and has finally decided to erupt a little. If you scroll above and below you’ll find over a dozen new stills for DJINNS along with a new teaser poster for the flick. There’s nothing too exciting here but for some reason I’m getting a good feeling about this flick. Before we get any deeper let me hit you all with the synopsis.
Algeria, 1960. A section of French paratroopers are sent in search of a missing aircraft in the Algerian desert. The wreckage of the plane is quickly located, but there are no survivors, just a suitcase stamped “Top Secret”. Stormed by enemy soldiers, the troops find refuge in a strange abandoned citadel. Despite warnings from the place’s Guardian to leave at once, they wake up the Djinns, the evil spirits of the desert…
Alright, so I’m not a big fan of the whole ‘evil spirits’ thing but for some reason I’m really digging this one. Maybe it’s just because I’m a fan of anything Djinn related, notably the WISHMASTER franchise. Then again DJINNS looks nothing like WISHMASTER so what’s the deal? What do you guys think? Do you see some potential in DJINNS or should we just leave this one to rot in the desert?
DJINNS comes from the directing duo of Sandra and Hugues Martin. It stars Saïd Taghmaoui, Aurélien Wiik, Cyril Raffaelli, Grégoire Leprince-RinguetThierry Fremont, Grégory Quidel, Emmanuel Bonami, Omar Lotfi, Matthias Van Khache and Stéphane Debac. Things are finally starting to pick up for this project so hopefully we get a look at some more goods soon. Like a trailer perhaps? As always be sure to keep it here for more as we hear it.
