Dark adaptations of fairytales seem to be a growing trend in today’s genre. Hell there’s countless flicks in the works based on the classic tale of LITTLE RED RIDING HOOD, but what about those other wolf stories? Today we’ve got an update on another wolf-related fairytale getting the genre treatment: PETER & THE WOLF.
The news over at Bloody-Disgusting has a genre heavy adaptation of PETER & THE WOLF heading our way via Madhouse Entertainment and scribe Paul Busenitz. Check out the details:
In order to save the love of his life and confront his own past, Peter, with the help of two very unlikely allies, sets out to trap a cunning serial killer who has returned to the college town he once terrorized.
Sounds like a very modernized telling of the tale. It also sounds like this thing can fall right in line with all the forgettable slashers of the 90s, doesn’t it? If that does happen to be the case luckily I dig most of that 90s slasher cheese!
Unfortunately details are scarce for this little diddy and that’s all we’ve got on the project thus far. Judging from the little bit we’ve got, what do you think?
