Last week our man Jared told you about Jon Amiel jumping on board the Kurt Russell supernatural thriller UNDYING (check out that madness HERE). That was then, and this is now, and now it’s officially official that Amiel is on board the project (before it was just official–don’t ask me what the difference is).

Now that it’s officially official, Amiel released a statement as to his anticipation and excitement about the project, and about working with legendary actor Snake Plisskin. Check it out:

I’m truly excited to be involved with this project. ‘Undying’ is a wondrously original movie – part gumshoe noir, part supernatural thriller – it manages to combine richly detailed and real characters with all the wild, dark visuals of a graphic novel. Kurt Russell as Virgil Lone will be extraordinary I think. He’s an actor who’s widely loved and widely admired for two obvious reasons – he’s a really good guy and he’s a very fine actor!

If you couldn’t tell, Amiel is super excited about working on this movie. And who wouldn’t be? Doing any project with Russell has to be a dream for just about anyone working in the business, so good for Amiel to land the director’s gig. Hopefully he makes an entertaining movie out of it.

UNDYING goes something like this: Virgil Lone (Russell) is a private investigator who finds himself immersed in a surreal underworld, where the boundaries of life and death, and right and wrong, are blurred.

Hells yeah. Filming is set to begin later this fall, so expect more and more updates as we inch closer to production!
