When there’s a genre flick heading our way about exorcisms and starring the great Anthony Hopkins, you can bet your ass we’re going to follow that one! I’m of course talking about Mikael Hafstrom’s THE RITE, which is based on the novel “The Rite: The Making of a Modern Exorcist” by Matt Baglio.

Now the last we heard about the project, “Tudors” star Colin O’Donoghue was signing on, but that was over a month ago. So what’s going on now? Well it seems Hopkins and O’Donoghue will have some gorgeous company! According to Variety, genre regular Alice Braga has joined the project along with Ciaran Hinds and Toby Jones, who’ll both be playing priests in the film. By the way… that gorgeous comment was meant towards Braga (pictured), no offense fellas. Just look at that smile!

Based on true events, the story centers on a disillusioned American seminary student who attends exorcism school at the Vatican and ultimately finds his faith through encounters with demonic forces. Hopkins will play a priest who is an expert in exorcisms and whose methods are not necessarily traditional.

So an exorcism flick starring Anthony Hopkins and Alice Braga? Seems like we can’t go wrong with this one! Be sure to keep it here for more on THE RITE as we hear it!
