Rogue Pictures sets release dates for The Dark Fields & War of the Gods

With the first quarter of the new decade coming to a halt (damn, where does the time go?), I suppose it makes sense that (Relativity Media’s) Rogue Pictures has just divulged dates of release for various films under their umbrella. Included in said slate are a couple of flicks that have gotten some recent AITH love, namely Neil Burger’s THE DARK FEILDS and Tarsem Singh’s 3D epic WAR OF THE GODS (aka DAWN OF WAR). Wanna know when you can see these bastards? Sniff out the new release dates below!

THE DARK FIELDS, which stars Bradley Cooper, Robert De Niro and Abbie Cornish – Follows a wayward copywriter who finds himself in possession of a new pharmaceutical drug called MTD-48, which makes a person much smarter than they actually are. After initial social and financial success, a downward spiral of lethal side-effects take hold and soon the man becomes pursued by all kinds of unwanted assailants.

THE DARK FIELDS will unreel in theaters on March 18, 2011.

WAR OF THE GODS, which stars Freida Pinto (below), Mickey Rourke, Henry Cavill and Kellan Lutz – Finds a purported bastard who retains an allegiance to his mother despite the fact that he longs to join the quest of a king who is battling demons in ancient Greece. He later embarks on a grail of discovery that has him finding he is the king’s son and also fated to become his country’s greatest hero as he leads the successful war against long-imprisoned Titans who are hoping to use the demons to restore their power.

WAR OF THE GODS lands in theaters November 11, 2011.

And there they are gang, a good 12-20 months of waiting. Is that particularly bad news, or do you not give a flying f*ck either way? I for one think it beneficial for Singh, who may want to distance his film as far as he can from CLASH OF THE TITANS, which is getting more than a few underwhelming reviews.
