Leatherface in a movie with Massacre in the title? Need you anything else?

Not long ago our man Eric lent us a look at the teaser trailer for Julius Kemp’s brutal Icelandic horror effort HARPOON: REYKJAVIK WHALE WATCHING MASSCRE. I for one, was f*ckin’ thrilled. Not only does the flick star Leatherface himself (Gunnar Hansen), when was the last time you saw an effective slasher flick set in the high seas (I like JASON TAKES MANHATTAN as much as the next dude, but c’mon…)?

Inked by Sjon Sigurdsson, HARPOON is an epic tale about a group of whale watchers, whose ship breaks down and they get picked up by a whale fisher vessel. The Fishbillies on the vessel has just gone bust, and everything goes out of control. It’s touted as a cross between the original TEXAS CHAINSAW MASSACRE & THE BLAIR WITCH PROJECT, adding the droll humor of THE EVIL DEAD.

Sounds kinda vague, but judging by the clutch of new stills below, this shite looks pretty harsh. Scroll below and see if you concur!

Landing on DVD in the U.K. May 10th, HARPOON: REYKJAVIK WHALE WATCHING MASSACRE also stars Pihla Viitala, Nae, Terence Anderson, Miranda Hennessey, Aymen Hamdouchi, Carlos Takeshi, Miwa Yanagizawa, Snorri Engilbertsson and Ragnhildur Steinunn Jónsdóttir.

So what do ya guys say? This a flick you’re looking forward to? How about Gunnar “Leatherface” Hansen, you stoked to see him still kickin’ around in horror flicks or is this some pathetic attempt to cling on to the past?

Pump a round below!
