From one April 2nd release to another!

At first glance, Jake Goldberger’s mysterious thriller DON MCKAY hardly seems like AITH material. But after watching the first trailer for the damn thing, we all may wanna reconsider. Besides, I need nary an extra incentive to throw love to any, and I mean ANY, film starring Elisabeth Shue!

All jesting aside, there’s no denying the sinister tone and cryptic vibe the trailer gives off. it’s one of these man from the past flicks, where a dude with his own troubled history returns to his place of torment decades later. It also seems to be one of those first person accounts, where we the audience live vicariously through McKay’s eyes. We don’t know what’s going until he does, and even then, terrible truths will be unearthed in a way that yanks the f*ckin’ rug right out from under us. At least, that’s my take on the trailer.

Boasting an impressive ensemble for a first time writer/director, including Thomas Haden Church, Melissa Leo, M. Emmett Walsh, Keith David, and Pruitt Taylor Vince – DON MCKAY is the story of:

Don McKay (Church), a high school janitor who leaves his hometown after a tragedy, returns 25 years later to rekindle a romance with his old flame, who is dying, but this homecoming brings McKay more than he bargained for.

James Rebhorn, Ted Arcidi, Stephen Benson, Jack Burke, Amanda Donaghey, Lonnie Farmer, Rachel Harker, Harley Harrison, Charlie Peabody, Lewis D. Wheeler, and Bates Wilder round out the supporting cast.

As alluded to, DON MCKAY opens on April 2nd!
