A whole 6 days it’s been since our man JP drubbed your pretty little domes with a trailer for Gabriel Bologna’s THE BLACK WATERS OF ECHO’S POND, and knowing full well how things tend to come in packages around these parts, you shouldn’t be too shocked to learn a new, albeit shorter, trailer for the flick has just washed in. Find that shite underneath!

Co-written with Bologna by Sean Clark and Michael Berenson, THE BLACK WATERS OF ECHO’S POND kick-starts:

While on holiday, nine close friends discover a long-hidden, archaic board game in a stately Victorian home on a remote island in Maine. By playing the game, they unleash an ancient evil that brings out the worst in each of them. Rage, jealousy, greed, hatred, and lust boil over and, over the course of one terrifying night, the friends start to turn on each other in a deadly way. The Black Waters of Echo’s Pond is a supernatural horror film that explores what happens when we face our darkest secrets.

Wow, kinda sounds like that Eliza Dushku flick OPEN GRAVES, what with the whole malefic board-game plotline. However, I do like how this one pits everyone against each other instead of the game summoning up some kind of demon that wreaks havoc. Instead of banding together and fighting off an outside curse, each person has to fight their own inner-demons, which in turn makes them confront the worst qualities in their own friends. A nice change of pace if I do say so myself!

Robert Patrick, Danielle Harris, James Duval, Mircea Monroe, Sean Lawlor, Nick Mennell, Walker Howard, Arcadiy Golubovich, M.D. Walton and those hot Venezuelan twins from PLANET TERROR Electra and Elise Avellan all take part in the film.

THE BLACK WATERS OF ECHO’S POND will be released in a limited theatrical run starting April 9th!
