Remember a couple weeks ago, when I told you all about the CLASH OF THE TITANS doppleganger WAR OF THE GODS? Well it seems the flick has just scored some major star power that may just propel it past CLASH!
You ask who’d be epic enough to do something like that? Mickey f*cking Rourke! As if you couldn’t have guessed from the title of this article, the great Mickey Rourke has joined Tarsem Singh’s WAR OF THE GODS. Rourke (right), who joins Henry Cavill and the gorgeous Freida Pinto (below) in GODS, will play ‘King Hyperion,’ the villain of the film.
Story follows a young warrior Theseus who leads his men into battle with the immortal Greek gods to defeat evil and the powerful elder gods of the Titans in order to save mankind. Pinto is set to portray Phaedra, an oracle priestess who must join Theseus (Cavill) on his quest to prevent the cataclysmic war from erupting.
WAR OF THE GODS is coming at us from Relativity Media with production planned to start in April. So what do you think? Can you picture Rourke as an epic godly King? Feels like he wouldn’t even need to do much acting, right? As always be sure to keep it here for updates as we hear them!
