I’m not sure if or how many of you care about this romantically tinged Irish ghost story THE ECLIPSE, but here we are jacking you with a 3 minute behind-the-scenes look at the film from the lead actor himself, Ciaran Hinds. You can enjoy or insult the hell out of the thing below!

In the last six weeks or so we’ve seen the official trailer for the movie, as well as one prolonged clip. And after seeing both, I can honestly say I’m rockin’ mixed emotions. Is the flick gonna be an honest, moving horror effort like LET THE RIGHT ONE IN? Or is it going to resemble any number of cheap imitations with lame ass jump scares and whatnot? The pacing seems deliberate, the acting grounded, and it’s made out of state (which is a plus)…but you just never can tell how it’s all gonna add up, can you?!?

Yet here’s Ciaran Hinds, and some glowing superlatives from Variety and THR, to reassure us!

Written and directed by Conor McPherson, THE ECLIPSE is set in a seaside Irish town, where a widower sparks with a visiting horror novelist while he also begins to believe he is seeing ghosts.

Iben Hjejle (below), Aidan Quinn, Jim “Monster Rain” Norton, Dorothy Hardwicke, Hannah Lynch, and Hilary O’Shaughnessy round out the minimal ensemble.

THE ECLIPSE sees limited release March 26th. It’s rated R for language and some disturbing images. You can also watch the flick On Demand & PPV as early as now!
