According to Screen Daily there’s a sequel to Ghost House Underground’s adaptation of Jack Ketchum’s OFFSPRING in the works called OFFSPRING: THE WOMAN, and you’ll never guess who’s stepping in to direct. The one and only Luck McKee, that’s who!
McKee gave us such gems as MAY and THE WOODS, so the thought of him sitting behind the camera once again flippin’ great.
McKee is set to re-team with regular collaborator Angela Bettis as well as Pollyanna McIntosh. OFFSPRING: THE WOMAN goes a little something like this: a disturbed lawyer sets out to capture and tame the last surviving member of a violent clan that has terrorised the Northeast coast for decades.
McIntosh was the Woman in OFFSPRING, so it’s only fitting she returns to reprise her role. No word on the specifics of Bettis’s role, but rest assured, it will be big. The plan as of now is for filming to kick-start in late June in the great state of Michigan.
I’m a big fan of McKee’s work, and having Bettis up in the mix only reinforces the notion that this will be a McKee film, through and through. Stick around for more on OFFSPRING: THE WOMAN as we hear it!
Angela Bettis!
