Disney is less than a month away from unveiling its mega Spring tent-pole outing, Tim Burton’s wildly imaginative rendition of Lewis Carroll’s ALICE IN THE WONDERLAND. As such, a cool new behind the scenes featurette for the film has been unearthed, and we’ve got the juice below to prove it!
Piggybacking on some of the previous promo material we’ve seen, this featurette melds some of the familiar interview audio with new footage from the film itself, including interactive scenes between Alice (Mia Wasikowska) and the Mad Hatter (Johnny Depp). Oh, and seeing Helena Bonham Carter as The Red Queen is pretty damn amusing!
Bolstering the aforementioned trio of actors is Anne Hathaway (looking sexy below), Alan Rickman, Grispin Glover, Christopher Lee, Michael Sheen, Stephen Fry, Matt Lucas, Timothy Spall and Barbara Windsor.
Linda Woolverton adapted the screenplay (THE LION KING, BEAUTY AND THE BEAST), knowing a thing or two about successful Disney family fare.
And save for a still image or two, we really don’t know how or even how much Crispin Glover will be used in the film. Sure, we know he plays The Knave of Hearts, but in terms of how bat-shit bonkers this dude looks to get, under the tutelage of Burton no less, remains a key component of the film I desperately wanna see. I mean, c’mon…Burton, Depp and Glover? I’m starting to hallucinate already!
Synopsis: 19-year-old Alice returns to the magical world from her childhood adventure, where she reunites with her old friends and learns of her true destiny: to end the Red Queen’s reign of terror.
ALICE IN WONDERLAND goes wide March 5th!
