Now before I get into this let me clear one thing up: This is not to be confused with the Naomi Watts (below) starring, Jim Sheridan directed DREAM HOUSE, which we last told you about here. No, no. Today I’m here to tell you all about DREAM HOME, a slasher flick coming from those crazy bastards in Hong Kong.
What the hell is DREAM HOME? Well let me tell you all. We actually told you about the film way back in May but I’ll gladly hit you all with the details now for a little refresher. DREAM HOME comes from director Pang Ho-Cheung and all the plot we have is follows: DREAM HOME follows a woman who will stop at nothing to own her Dream Home. Wait…. Isn’t that basically every woman? Zing. Just kidding ladies.
The film stars Anthony Wong, Eason Chan, Michelle Ye Suen, Lawrence Chou, Derek Tsang, Juno Mak, Sin Lap Man, Wong Ching, Lo Hoi Pang and Josie Ho, who is also the film’s producer. Ready for some DREAM HOME back-story? Apparently producer Josie Ho didn’t agree with director Pang Ho-Cheung’s final cut in terms of the film’s harshness, so when Ho-Cheung refused to tone down the harshness thanks to his contractual gurantee of final cut the film pretty much hit a stand-still. That change’s today!
Over at Twitch Film they scored a look at the brand new teaser trailer for DREAM HOME! Scroll down below to scope that out for yourself. Twitch also were kind enough to point out that this trailer was shot by Josie Ho’s husband and not director Pang Ho-Cheung. Hmm… What could that mean? Nothing good I’m sure. They also note that Edison Chen, while in this teaser, will not be in the film.
So what do you guys think? Putting all the drama aside, do we have something with DREAM HOME? Or is the Hong Kong slasher flick destined to fail like many drama-plagued films have done in the past? It’s slated for release in Hong Kong on May 13th so hopefully we find out soon!
