As our man Eric astutely pointed out a week or so ago, February 2010 is actually rife with legit, high profile genre outings. We’ve got Adam Green’s FROZEN, Joe Johnston’s THE WOLFMAN, Marty Scorsese’s SHUTTER ISLAND, and of course, Breck Eisner’s THE CRAZIES. Not too bad, ay? Well how about a fresh trio of stills for the latter flick to chew into a bloody pulp?

Thanks to the lads and lasses over at The Morning Reader, that’s exactly what you can do RIGHT HERE!

Drawing inspiration from George A. Romero’s 1973 title of the same name, THE CRAZIES appear as a toxin begins to turn the residents of Ogden Marsh, Iowa into violent psychopaths. Sheriff David Dutton (Timothy Olyphant) tries to make sense of the situation while he, his wife (Radha Mitchell), and two other unaffected townspeople band together in a fight for survival.

Joe Anderson, Danielle Panabaker, Christie Lynn Smith, Bret Rickaby, Preston Bailey, John Aylward, Joe Reegan, Glenn Morshower, Larry Cedar and Mike Hickman all lend support.

As I’m sure you’ve figured by now, the still below depicts Sheriff Dutton face to face with a knife wielding maniac looking to share his “craziness.” The other pics show a distraught Danielle Panabaker (quite a face there, D.), and an uncouth “Crazy” with the all too familiar pitchfork we’ve seen in prior promo material.

Of the three stills, which is your favorite?

THE CRAZIES look to convert you February 26th!
