A DEAD RISING movie? For realz?

How many of you got down with Capcom’s immensely popular videogame DEAD RISING back in ’06? You still eagerly anticipating the follow up, set to stock shelves later this year? Well how many of you were privy to the fact that a full length, live-action DEAD RISING film is being made available via Xbox Live and the official site for the project? Read on…

It’s true folks. Turns out Keiji Inafune, designer of the DEAD RISING game and creator of MEGA MAN franchise, co-wrote and directed the live action zombie feature. The movie is set in an alternative reality in which areas affected by outbreaks are strictly quarantined, and those living in the area are cordoned off from the rest of the country. Two brothers George and Shin, hatch a plan to escape.

Hiroki Yoshida, Hiroshi Yazaki, and Shibyou Osen all play a role in the film.

Be sure to lock a look at the trailer below, she’s quite a doozy. We’ve got some nice throat gouging, exploding domes, exorbitant J-horror gore, wheelchairs, first person POVs, exotic weaponry, and a sweet, sweet rock anthem in the back half of the trailer. Seriously, this shite looks like loads of fun.

Get after it!
