The Hughes Brothers returned last weekend from a 10 year hiatus with Denzel Washington in THE BOOK OF ELI, and while AVATAR still came out on top, ELI managed to take in more than $30M–not bad for an R rated apocalyptic movie released in January!
In accordance with its release was the release of the new Japanese poster for the flick, which managed to make its way online in a timely manner… after the film’s North American release. No matter though, as the poster is still pretty damn cool, regardless of how much it feels like the posters for another apocalyptic flick, I AM LEGEND.
The orange overtones, tbe lonesome figure standing in the middle of the street, the utterly destroyed world in the background… it’s a nice image, but one we saw a few years back starring Will Smith. Or maybe I’m just reading way too much into this? Maybe the poster concept is similar only to me…
Co-starring the lovely Mila Kunis and the badass Gary Oldman, THE BOOK OF ELI is currently playing in a theater near you. In the mean time, check out the Japanese poster for the flick below and do your own comparison.
