Do you guys remember hearing about the horror/comedy coming from Rob Stefaniuk called SUCK? No? Well maybe that’s because the last update we got for the film came way back in August! Then again SUCK was looking pretty cool so there’s a good chance you do remember that shite. Well almost six months later and we’ve finally got another update for the vampire comedy!
Today I stumbled upon a pair of clips from SUCK as well as several new stills from the film! The stills can be seen above and below with the clips below the stills and over in our videos section. The clips, titled “Coming to Get You” and “Queeny’s Lair,” aren’t much but if this is the kind of stuff we’re getting with SUCK you can definitely sign me up! This shite looks stylish and smart, throw in some vampires and you’ve got yourself a good time!
Seemingly doomed to roadtrip doldrums and dives, the band The Winners break their slump when their female bass player disappears one night with a studly, stylin’ vampire. She returns charged with sexual charisma that creates audience frenzy and eventually ensnares the rest of the band. Their “hook” launches them to fame. But fame turns out to be a different kind of Hell than AC/DC promised.
Following an “incident” on a national radio show with “Rockn’ Roger” The Winners hit mega-stardom beyond their wildest dreams. But Joey is haunted by an eerie bartender with a dark secret. And legendary vampire hunter, Eddie Van Helsing, is on their tail tracking them down despite his fear of the dark. But when a veteran music producer calls them on becoming a vampire freak show, their rock’n’roll bubble bursts.
The film’s very impressive cast includes Malcolm McDowell, Dave Foley, Henry Rollins, Jessica Paré (below), Mike Lobel, Alice Cooper, Iggy Pop, Danny Smith, Moby, Calico Cooper, Paul Anthony and Carole Pope. Daaamn! This thing is worth watching for that cast alone… well if you’re into rock and roll.. which if you’re here on AITH chances are you are. Who doesn’t love rock and roll? Come on now…
Now SUCK is yet to score any distribution deals here in the US but hopefully something happens soon! On the Canadian front, which is where the film comes from, Alliance Films scooped up SUCK for distribution back in September but no date has been announced.
