THE DEAD MATTER is one of those films that we’ve been following for years here on AITH, so it brings me great pleasure to deliver this bit of news: THE DEAD MATTER will be released on Friday, July 30, 2010!
That’s right folks, after years of waiting, the film finally scored a release date and we couldn’t be more happier about it. Directed by Edward Douglas and starring Andrew Divoff, Jason Carter, and Tom Savini, THE DEAD MATTER goes a little something like this: THE DEAD MATTER tells the story of a relic with occult powers that falls into the hands of a grief-stricken young woman, whose desire to reconnect with her dead brother draws her into the supernatural world of vampirism and the living dead.
Vampires? Zombies? Tom f*cking Savini? It’s a shame this has taken a few years to find a release, but all that is in the past as the flick now has one in July!
Along with the release date, the filmmakers also announced that they’ll be hosting a contest for all you aspiring filmmakers out there, for your chance to win an assload of cool prizes and have your work featured on the film’s DVD. Here’s the skinny:
Midnight Syndicate Halloween Music is hosting a 13th Anniversary Video Contest where filmmakers and animators can create a silent film or music video to an existing Midnight Syndicate track.
Now how cool is that? Judges for the contest include the great Dee Snider, Robert Kurtzman, Savini, Douglas, Gavin Goszka, and Gary Jones. For more information on the contest, be sure to hit up all of the OFFICIAL RULES.
A new release date and a video contest all in one day? Yup, THE DEAD MATTER is flying high right about now. Stick around for more goodies on THE DEAD MATTER as we inch closer to its July 30 release date!
