Crispin Glover is an actor I think we can all agree we’d like to see more of. The dude marches to his own beat, and for that, he garners our respect (at least here at AITH). So needless to say, we’re pretty f*ckin’ amped to share with you a sick little trailer for a flick he stars in called THE DONNER PARTY.

Anytime that rare breed of horror-western rears its beautiful head, we take f*ckin’ aim…and this shite’s no exception. What I particularly like about the film, in addition to the gorgeous setting, is the way the flick uses historical accuracy to depict the true horror of humanity. Of course, there’s also Crispin Glover in a beard…and that always helps!

For those who slept through history class, THE DONNER PARTY is a survival tale based on the real events of The Donner Party tragedy. The Donner Party was a group of California-bound American settlers caught up in the western expansion of the 1840s. After becoming snowbound in the Sierra Nevada during the winter of 1846-1847, a number of the trapped settlers joined together in a final effort to reach California and organize a rescue party.

Two words…Jeff Dahmer!

With Clayne Crawford, Michele Santopietro, Mark Boone Junior, Christian Kane, Catherine Black, Crispian Belfrage, Jamie Anne Allman, Jack Kyle, Cary Wayne Moore, Alison Haislip, Mara LaFontaine, and John A. Lorenz – THE DONNER PARTY is written and directed by first timer T.J. Martin.

Find the flick on DVD January 26th!
