Bunch of new Eli pics

As our newly branded 2-time father astutely pointed out earlier today (Congrats again Ammon!), January is known as a cinematic wasteland. However, with the release of such genre flicks as DAYBREAKERS, LEGION, BITCH SLAP, a wider release for THE LOVELY BONES, and perhaps my own most anticipated among the list, THE BOOK OF ELI – this year may be a nice exception to the rule. Nice to see the new decade come correct!

And in case you missed our recent little TV spot for The Brothers Hughes’ post-apocalyptic yarn (see it HERE), we have a f*ckin’ cavalcade of fresh stills from the flick (scroll below!)

Pitting Denzel up against Gary Oldman, Jennifer Beals, Mila Kunis, Tom Waits, Michael Gambon, Ray Stevens, and Evan Jones – THE BOOK OF ELI is the tale of a lone man who fights his way across America in order to protect a sacred book that holds the secrets to saving humankind.

Obvious evocations of THE ROAD are drawn from that plotline, so the real question is this: Can Denzel match the level of utter cool Viggo Mortensen demonstrated? Empty a clip below!

The BOOK opens January 15th.
