THE CRAZIES [Blu-ray] – February 23
Just in time for the remake to hit theaters, George A. Romero’s original quarantined classic is making its way to Blu-ray for the first time! Nice! Though, truth be told, the remake looks a titch bit better than Romero’s. Yup, I said it. The remake looks better. Sue me. Face it, THE CRAZIES isn’t one of Romero’s best films, so stop your crying. That said, I’m really digging this cover…

SORORITY ROW [Blu-ray] – February 23
We caught an earlier version of the SORORITY ROW cover a few weeks back, when a some of the girl’s hair were on fire, and it looks like someone was listening to our laughter, as the cover has been revised for the better. No one is on fire here. Good work. Then again, the cover practically gives away the killer, in what may be one of the biggest spoilery covers ever! Sure, you can’t tell his identity, but that’s the point. You can tell it’s a man. The movie plays it like a mystery, trying to find out who the killer is, and suggests that half the sisters may be the killer. And based on this cover, you know for a fact, that the killer is a man. Once again, nice work SORORITY ROW DVD people!

GIRLY – March 30
Check this out: a couple of hotties bring home playmates to play sex games. But if the playmate doesn’t want to play games, they’re immediately killed in horribly gruesome and savage ways. Now how’s that for awesome? Obviously made in the 60s, this is the definition of grindhouse schlock, the best kind of trashy filmmaking there is. And any cover featuring a severed head is A-OK in my book. My book being the book of cool DVD covers.

RED HOOK – February 16 – Because the cover features a knife–and not a hook at all!
THE ALCOVE – February 23 – Because more covers need to feature naked women covered only by a lock of hair and the film’s title!
BUTCHERED – February 9 – Because the title is just so darned original! That said, this looks like a fun-filled slasher film!
