The last time we heard about the new version of SWAMP THING, it was back in August when it was announced the film would be released in glorious 3D (see for yourself HERE). So it’s fitting that producer Joel Silver would take time out of his busy schedule to yap about the film today. Why fitting? Why not?
Actually, Silver’s out pimping SHERLOCK HOLMES, so it’s no wonder questions turned to some of his other projects. MTV had a chance to throw a question or two about SWAMP THING in Silver’s direction, and lookee here, the man threw us a bone! Nice!
Silver basically chimed in when asked as if SWAMP THING will still be in 3D. His response was yes (of course), as he believes 3D [is] the intended format for a film about DC’s famous swamp creature. Hell yeah it is! Not to mention that we’ve seen the big green guy in a few movies, on TV, and in a cartoon. So where haven’t we seen him? Oh yeah.. 3D!
While I don’t think the world needs another SWAMP THING, I think (if done right), a 3D version of the tale would be kind of fun, and would at least be different than what we’ve seen before. Of course, there’s no time frame for this flick, so it could be years before it sees the light of day… but at least it’ll be in 3D when it finally does happen.
