Inching one step closer to completion, After Dark Films has just announced their 7th of 8 Films To Die For in 2010. And that film is…wait for it…Nick Cohen’s British chiller THE REEDS!

Written by Chris Baker and Simon Sprackling, THE REEDS is a ghastly story that picks up when:

A weekend boating trip through the Norfolk Broads becomes a deadly ordeal for six 20-something year old friends who lose their bearings in the vast reedy tidewaters. Chances of escape and hopes for survival diminish as inexplicable forces terrorize the lost and terrified group.

Damn, let me just say this: anytime a horror flick features “vast reedy tidewaters,” you can’t be my stack of chips are going all in!

THE REEDS stars Anna Brewster, O.T. Fagbenle, Will Mellor, Danny Caltagirone, Scarlett Alice Johnson, Emma Catherwood, and Geoff Bell.

At the prospect of being backed by After Dark, writer/producer Sprackling states: “We are surprised and delighted to be signed up for such a prestigious genre showcase and to have the weight of the studio behind us.”

Piggybacking on that notion, director Cohen adds: “I am delighted that THE REEDS has been selected for the After Dark slate. It is a real privilege to be participating in such an exciting and groundbreaking festival lineup.”

Stay tuned y’all, something tells me we’ll soon be flooded with images and one-sheets very shortly!

THE REEDS premieres on January 29, 2010.
