Fu*k yeah, here’s some news I’m diggin’ with a goddamn sickle! Longtime horror actress Danielle Harris (HALLOWEEN 4, BLOOD NIGHT) has just been confirmed as the leading lady in HATCHET 2, the much anticipated follow up to Adam Green’s 2006 grue-gala.

Set to assume the role of Marybeth (played in the original by Tamara Feldman), Harris looks to add the popular HATCHET title to an already slated roster of 5 or so horror films, including STAKE LAND and THE BLACK WATER’S OF ECHO’S POND. Of course to me, she may always be Bruce Willis’ pissy, profanity slinging daughter in Tony Scott’s THE LAST BOY SCOUT (aside from H4 mind you).

According to the living-corpses over at Dread Central, Green has this to say about the addition of Harris:

“The first Hatchet film was my love letter to the shit I watched growing up. The sequel is my love letter to the fans who supported Hatchet and made it what it was. Bringing Danielle in is a perfect example of us trying to do everything bigger and better than we did in the first film. She’s is not only a bona fide star and terrific actress, but she’s also a really good friend of lots of us here in the Hatchet family. Danielle has played the scream queen/damsel-in-distress role before. With this movie we’re gonna see her be out for blood and REALLY fuck people up. We couldn’t be more excited to have her aboard and to start bringing on the gore.”

A Christmas gift come early, if you ask us!
